The Artist's Retreat is a thatched Bed & Breakfast lodge located upstream from the River Lodge, in the Craft Art Village.

The Craft Art Village also encompasses the Writer’s Cottage, the Studio and the Craft Art Centre.

It is a premier destination for diverse creative talents (artists, writers, researchers, photographers and crafts people) from around the world to revitalise their inspiration. Amidst great fever trees & lush gardens, it provides serenity and stimulation to refresh your creative energy. Equipped with some artist’s materials, you will be inspired to be creative and take home your own memories of this special place.

Special activities at the Craft Art Village include creative workshops & quality shopping at the Craft Art Centre, lunch on the pool deck and afternoon tea, coffee or champagne in the garden. Artists materials and canvasses are available on request.

The Artist’s Retreat consists of four en-suite, themed rooms furnished with exquisite African & local art. It features generous studio space, a reading area, a large self-catering kitchen, swimming pool, terrace and dining & open lounge areas with views on the beautiful garden.

The interior is calm and relaxing with carefully chosen art and artefacts. The space is fully equipped and well laid out, and with a lovely fireplace to be cosy during winter.

Two of the en-suite bedrooms look straight out onto the terrace and the swimming pool, perfect for those lazy mornings. The two other bedrooms look out on the garden and also feature a private terrace under magnificent trees. With a splendid view, this lodge is an ideal place for peace and relaxation.

The en-suite rooms are perfect for more privacy, for a family or group of friends.

Breakfasts offer a wide choice of interesting fare and is inclusive. Lunches & dinners are available by arrangement.
